· Central heating (indoor heat) during winter season
2. Medical conditions
· Eczema or atopic dermatitis- allergic reaction to external factors, such as pollution, irritants and chemicals including skin care products-leads to dryness and flaking.

· Blepharitis- this is an inflammatory condition that usually affects the eyelids, causing the surrounding skin to become dry and scaly.
3. Moisture Robbing Facial Cleansers– constant using of facial cleansers and other skin products that contain harsh chemicals can strip off protective oils that your skin naturally has.
4. Habit of washing the face frequently– it can cause the skin around your eyes to be stressed which in turn triggers dryness and damages the epidermis.
5. Cosmetic factor: applying perfumed make-up, wearing concealer to mask the affected area, using dirty brushes and mascara, all these can stress out your skin and make it prone to dryness.
